Zoe Hobbs (New Zealand) won the 100m gold at the Seiko Golden Grand Prix in Tokyo. She clocked the timer at 11.17 sec, overtaking her main competitor Bree Masters (Australia) by 0.14 sec. The bronze went to Arisa Kimishima (Japan), who finished in 11.49 sec.
The Top 5 in the event was completed by Torrie Lewis (Australia) and Shannon Ray (USA), who clocked at 11.54 sec and 11.57 sec, respectively.
Zoe Hobbs is the Oceanian indoor record holder for the 60m and the Oceanian record holder for the 100m. She was the first Oceanian woman to break the 11-second barrier in the 100m. She has won 11 individual New Zealand national titles.
In women’s 100m hurdles event, Yanni Wu (China) triumphed with the gold with 12.80 sec, beating her Japanese competitors Yumi Tanaka and Mako Fukube, who earned the silver and the bronze, respectively.
In women’s triple jump event, Saly Sarr (Senegal) won the gold with 14.08m, which is her personal best. Neja Filipic (Serbia) earned the silver and Jessie Maduka (Germany) remained with the bronze.
