Yufei Zhang won the women’s 200m Butterfly swimming event at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games

The Olympic champion and world record holder Chinese swimmer Yufei Zhang won the women’s 200m Butterfly swimming event at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games. She triumphed with the gold in the event with a new Asian Games record of 2:05.57 min.

The silver went to her compatriot Liyan Yu, who remained 2.74 sec behind, while the bronze was for Hiroko Makino (Japan) on 3.65 sec behind the winner.

The Top 5 in the event were completed by Sujin Park (South Korea) and Jing Wen Quah (Singapore).

Bingjie Li (China) triumphed with the gold at the women’s 1500m Freestyle swimming event also improving the Asian Games record, finishing in 15:51.18 min. He compatriot Weizhong Gao remained second in 14.55 sec behind, while Yukimi Moriyama (Japan) earned the bronze on 26.60 sec behind the winner.

Qianting Tang (China) won the women’s 50m Breaststroke swimming event. The Chinese swimmer earned the gold with 29.96 sec, just 0.18 sec ahead of the second Satomi Suzuki (Japan) and 0.40 sec of Siobhan Bernadette Haughey (Hong Kong).

The Chinese triumph at the swimming events continued at the women’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay, where the team of Yujie Cheng, Bingjie Li, Qingfeng Wu, and Junxuan Yang, earned the gold after finishing with a new Asian Games record of 3:33.96 min. Japan and Hong Kong remained with silver and bronze, respectively.
