Yaroslava Mahuchikh’s high jump world record was ratified

Yaroslava Mahuchikh’s world record in the high jump of 210 cm was officially ratified by the World Athletics. Thus, Stefka Kostadinova’s achievement of 209 cm, which she has been sitting on top of for more than 30 years, is now officially number two in the all-time world’s ranking. The Ukrainian athlete recorded this result at the Paris Diamond League on July 7.

“Coming into this competition, I had a feeling that I could jump 207 cm, maybe 210 cm. I finally wrote Ukraine down in the history of world athletics”, said Yaroslava Mahuchikh.

World Athletics has recognized three more world records set in 2024. They are among juniors and girls Under-20 – Medina Eisa in the girls’ 5000m (14:21.89 min), and Yan Ziyi in the girls’ javelin throw (64.28m).
