Yaroslava Mahuchikh won the high jump gold at the Xiamen Diamond League

World high jump champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh (Ukraine) won the gold at the Xiamen Diamond League, continuing her good performance during the season. The Ukrainian athlete triumphed in China after equaling the season’s world best of 2.02m.

Lia Apostolovski (Slovenia) finished second and earned the silver with 1.92m, while the 2022 Eugene World Athletics champion Eleanor Patterson remained with the bronze with the same result, but achieved from the third attempt.

The Top 5 at Xiamen Diamond League were completed by Elisabeth Pihela (Estonia) and Yuliya Chumachenko (Ukraine).

Yaroslava Mahuchikh is a Ukrainian high jumper. She was the Tokyo 2020 Olympics bronze medalist, 2019 and 2022 World Championships silver medalist, 2023 World Championships gold medalist, and 2022 World Indoor Championships gold medalist. At the 2022 Brussels Diamond League, Yaroslava Mahuchikh jumped 2.05m, which is her outdoor personal best and a Ukrainian record. In 2021, she achieved her indoor personal best of 2.06m, which is also a national record.
