Yaroslava Mahuchikh won the diamond trophy in the high jump

Olympic, world and European champion and world record holder in the high jump Yaroslava Mahuchikh has added another trophy to her honors. The Ukrainian won the final tournament of the Diamond League in Brussels this evening with 1.97m, which she overcame on the first attempt. Thus, she secured her third consecutive diamond trophy in the event.

Second with the same result, but overcome by a second attempt, was this winter’s indoor world champion from Glasgow, Nicola Olyslagers (Australia). Ukraine’s success in the event was complemented by Iryna Gerashchenko, who took third place with 1.92m.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh is also the 2020 Summer Olympics bronze medalist, 2019 and 2022 World Championships silver medalist and 2024 World Indoor Championships silver medalist. At the 2024 Paris Diamond League, she broke the world record in the event with a jump of 2.10m.

In the women’s triple jump, the third from the World Championships in Budapest last year, the diamond trophy with one successful attempt in the competition was won by the Cuban athlete Leyanis Perez Hernandez, who landed 14.37m (-0.1m/s) in her second attempt.

Jamaican Shanieka Ricketts finished second with 14.22m (0.0 m/s), and her compatriot Ackelia Smith came third with 14.11m (-0.2 m/s).
