Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Nicola Olyslagers made a great battle in the high jump at the Diamond League Finals in Eugene. The Ukrainian and the Australian finished with an equal score of 2.03m – the best result in the world for the season, but the victory and the diamond trophy went to Yaroslava Mahuchikh, who cleared the height on the second attempt.
Nicola Olyslagers made it from the third time. For the Australian, this is a new personal best and a new continental record.
Angelina Topic (Serbia) remained third and conquered the bronze with 1.95m.
Vashti Cunningham (USA) and Morgan Lake (Great Britain) completed the Top 5.
Yaroslava Mahuchikh won her second diamond trophy after winning the title last year as well. She is 2023 Budapest World champion, 2022 Belgrade World Indoor champion, as well as two time european Indoor and once European outdoor champion.
