Yaroslava Mahuchikh will compete in a street high jump at the Lausanne Diamond League

The current diamond league champion in the high jump, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, will participate in the prestigious battle of the tournament from the Atletissima circuit in Lausanne. The discipline will be a street race and will be held outside the stadium, the main program of the Lausanne Diamond League will take place on Friday.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh topped the world rankings for the season with 2.01m from Rabat last month. In Lausanne, the Ukrainian athlete will compete against the Australian Nicola Olyslagers, Angelina Topiic, as well as against her compatriots Yuliya Levchenko and Kateryna Tabashnyk. British athlete Morgan Lake and two-time Olympic heptathlon champion Nafissatou Thiam (Belgium) will also start in the high jump street competition in Lausanne.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh is a Ukrainian high jumper. She was the Tokyo 2020 Olympics bronze medalist, 2019 and 2022 World Championships silver medalist, and 2022 World Indoor Championships gold medalist. At the 2022 Brussels Diamond League, Yaroslava Mahuchikh jumped 2.05m, which is her outdoor personal best and a Ukrainian record. In 2021, she achieved her indoor personal best of 2.06m, which is also a national record.
