World indoor high jump champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh (Ukraine) achieved a world best of the season in Metz on Saturday. The Ukrainian athlete overcame 2.02m for the first position in the French city and added 2 cm to her best achievement of the year. She also attempted 2.07m, which would have been her personal best, but did not succeed at that height.
The second in the women’s high jump in Metz remained Britt Weerman (Netherlands) with 1.96m and the third was Yuliya Levchenko (Ukraine) with 1.92m.
Yaroslava Mahuchikh is a Ukrainian high jumper. She was the 2020 Summer Olympics bronze medalist, 2019 and 2022 World Championships silver medalist, and 2022 World Indoor Championships gold medalist.
The 2019 World 800m champion Halimah Nakaayi (Uganda) won the 800m in 1:59.18 min, followed by Lorea Ibarzabal (Spain) and Naomi Korir (Kenya).
Ethiopian runners won the honors at the women’s 3000m in Metz after Ayal Dagnachew won the gold with 8:42.47 min, followed by Sembo Almayew and Tigist Ketema.
