Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Iryna Gerashchenko took first and second place in Cottbus

Ukrainian high jumpers Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Iryna Gerashchenko took first and second place at the last European Indoor Championships in 2021, and yesterday they finished in the same order at the international athletics jumping tournament in Cottbus (Germany).

Yaroslava Mahuchikh, who topped the world rankings for the season with 2.00m, this time cleared 1.98m for her victory. She also attacked 2.02m but was unsuccessful in all three of her attempts at that height.

Her compatriot Iryna Gerashchenko jumped 1.96m for the second position.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh is the 2020 Summer Olympics bronze medalist, 2019 and 2022 World Championships silver medalist, and 2022 World Indoor Championships gold medalist.
