Women’s football club Deportivo Cali is just a step from the title in Colombia

The Colombian women’s football club Deportivo Cali won the first final of the Primera A play-off and give a serious request for the title. The team smashed with 4-1 the last year champion Santa Fe at the Estadio Deportivo Cali.

Manuela Pavi (5′), Linda Caicedo (17′), Caicedo Farlyn (49′), and Maria Morales (56′) scored for Deportivo Cali, while Munoz (30′) made the only goal for Santa Fe.

The team of Deportivo Cali was the leader in Group B of the main league standings with 6 wins and 4 draws. In the semi-final, they defeated La Equidad with two wins and an aggregate score of 4-1.

The women of Santa Fe was the leader in Group A with 6 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss. In the semi-final, they eliminated Atletico Nacional with two wins and an aggregate score of 3-1.

The second match of the final play-off of Deportivo Cali and Santa Fe is on September 13.
