Winfred Yavi won the 3,000m steeplechase Olympics title at Paris Games

The 2023 Budapest 3,000m steeplechase world champion Winfred Yavi also brought home Olympic gold for her new home of Bahrain. The Kenyan-born athlete won the title in Paris with a new Olympic record of 8:52.76 min.

The Olympic champion from Tokyo in the discipline Peruth Chemutai (Uganda) this time had to settle for the silver medal after a new national record for Uganda of 8:53.34 min. The Kenyan athlete Faith Cherotich earned the bronze medal with a personal best of 8:55.15 min.

Alice Finot (France) brought the Stade de France to its feet after finishing fourth in this final with a new European record in the steeplechase – 8:58.67 min.
