Wang Xueer (China) won the gold in women’s 50m Backstroke swimming event at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games. the Chinese swimmer triumphed with 27.35 sec, overtaking her compatriot Wan Letian by 0.06 sec and Miki Takahashi (Japan) by 0.86 sec.
Hoi Shun Stephanie Au (Hong Kong) missed the medals for a while, finishing just 0.14 sec from the bronze.
Meanwhile in the Women’s 200m Freestyle swimming event, Siobhan Bernadette Haughey (Hong Kong) triumphed with the gold, setting a new Asian Games record of 1:54.12 min. She was far ahead of the Chinese swimmers Li Bingjie (+1.88 sec) and Liu Yaxin (+2.31 sec), who earned the silver and bronze, respectively.
the world bronze medalist Yu Yiting (China) earned the title in the Women’s 200m Individual Medley swimming event, setting also a new Asian Games record of 2:07.75 min. The silver went to her compatriot Ye Shiwen with 2:10.34 min and the bronze was for Seoyeong Kim (South Korea) with 2:10.36 min.
