Viktoriya Tomova (Bulgaria) qualified for the quarterfinals of the WTA 250 Livesport Prague Open clay tournament. The 5th-seeded Bulgarian tennis player prevailed in the second round over Jana Fett (Croatia) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:4). The match lasted an hour and 33 minutes, with Viktoriya Tomova making a comeback in both sets.
The match started better for Jana Fett, who led with a 3:0. However, by the end of the first set, the Croatian was unable to win a single game, with Viktoriya Tomova recording six consecutive games and closed it by 6:3.
In the second set, the situation was identical, with Jana Fett leading with 4:2, but the final four games went to the account of Bulgarian tennis player.
In the quarterfinals Viktoriya Tomova will face the 4th-seeded Magda Linette (Poland).
To date, Viktoriya Tomova and Magda Linette have played three times, and all three matches ended with two-set victories for the tennis player from Poland.
In the other matches from the day, the Czech teenager Laura Samson eliminated the second-seeded Katerina Siniakova after 2-1 (1:6, 7:5, 6:3), while Ella Seidel (Germany) defeated Ena Shibahara (Japan) by 2-0 (6:2, 7:5).
Magdalena Frech (Poland) and Linda Noskova (Czech Republic) also advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament after retirement of their opponents – Dominika Salkova (Czech Republic) and Eva Lys (Germany).
