Viktorija Golubic won the title of the WTA 250 Jiangxi Open

Viktorija Golubic (Switzerland), who is 168th in the WTA world rankings, achieved remarkable success by winning her second title after defeating the second-seeded Rebecca Sramkova (Slovakia) by 2-0 (6:3, 7:5) in the final of the WTA 250 Jiangxi Open in China. The tournament was held on hard courts and has prize money of 267,000 USD.

The Swiss tennis player had just one career title before her appearance at the Jiangxi Open, which she won in 2016 in Gstaad, defeating Kiki Bertens.

The WTA 250 Jiangxi Open final match started strongly for Viktorija Golubic, who made an early break and quickly took a 2:0 lead. She managed to finish the first set at 6:3 after a second break in the ninth game.

Although Rebecca Sramkova managed to break in the third game of the second set and lead 3:1, Viktorija Golubic did not give up and quickly regained control, breaking again in the next serve of her opponent. After a tense game, she closed the second set 7:5 to win the title.

The match lasted an hour and 52 minutes, and Viktorija Golubic’s success underlined her return to the top of tennis.
