Vietnam got the victory versus Thailand in the losers play-off of the Women’s Asian Cup

The football team of Vietnam won by 2-0 in the match versus Thailand at the 5th-7th places play-off of the Women’s Asian Cup. The team of Vietnam took the lead in the group of three teams, which is completed by the team of Chinese Taipei.

Nhu Huynh (19′) and Thi Thao Thai (24′) scored for Vietnam, giving their team a real chance to take 5th place in the final standings.

Vietnam lost the quarter-final match versus China with 3-1, while Thailand lost from Japan by 7-0.

The tournament continues tomorrow with the semi-finals: China vs Japan and South Korea vs the Philippines.

The big surprise in the quarter-finals was the loss of Australia from South Korea with 1-0 (So-Yun Ji 87′).
