Victoria Azarenka qualified for the second round of the WTA 1000 Canadian Open

Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka qualified for the second round of the WTA 1000 Canadian Open in Montreal, also known as Rogers Cup, with a prize pool of 2.7 million USD. At the start of the tournament, she defeated Magda Linette (Poland) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:0) in 2:29 hours.

In the next round, Victoria Azarenka will face Sloane Stephens (USA), who eliminated Anhelina Kalinina (Ukraine) bvy 2- (6:4, 7:6).

Marie Bouzkova (Czech Republic) also advanced to the second round of the WTA 1000 Canadian Open after defeating the qualifier Kayla Day (USA) by 2-0 (7:6, 6:3) and will face the 5th-seeded Caroline Garcia (France).

Jasmine Paolini (Italy) eliminated Donna Vekic (Croatia) after 2-0 (7:6, 6:2).
