Victoria Azarenka advanced to the third round of the WTA 1000 Guadalajara Open Akron

The former world’s number one Victoria Azarenka (Belarus) advanced to the third round of the WTA 1000 Guadalajara Open Akron after defeating Dayana Yastremska (Ukraine) by 2-0 (6:4, 7:6) in 2:10 hours of play.

In the next round, Victoria Azarenka will face the 7th-seeded Veronika Kudermetova (Russia), who eliminated Eugenie Bouchard (Canada) by 2-1 (6:2, 6:7, 6:4).

Leylah Fernandez (Canada) also advanced to the third round after defeating the 13th-seeded Elise Mertens (Belgium) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:4) and will face Emma Navarro (USA), who shocked her compatriot and 4th-seeded Madison Keys and eliminated her after 2-0 (6:2, 7:6).

The top-seeded Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) did not made a mistake and took a straight set victory versus Alycia Parks (USA) in the second round after 2-0 (6:2, 6:2), as well as the 6th-seeded Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia), who eliminated Marta Kostyuk (Ukraine) after 2-0 (6:2, 6:3)

The qualifier Caroline Dolehide (USA) also advanced to the third round after defeating her compatriot Sachia Vickery by 2-1 (6:3, 4:6, 6:1).
