Veronica Campbell Brown explained why Olympic 200m gold from Beijing 2008 holds a special place in her heart

Jamaican sprint legend Veronica Campbell Brown has explained why Olympic 200m gold from Beijing 2008 holds a special place in her heart.

“There are so many special moments, but Beijing holds a special place in my heart because there were challenges and pressure, I had to defend my 200m title”, said Veronica Campbell Brown. “At the 2008 Olympic qualifiers, I finished fourth in the 100m, so I had 24 hours to readjust, shake off the negative thoughts and come back with confidence in the 200m. I went to Beijing, won the 200m, defended my title and made history”, she shared.

The Jamaican sprinter is the winner of a total of eight Olympic medals, including three gold, three silver and two bronze.
