Valentina Shevchenko will defend her flyweight title versus Taila Santos at UFC 275

Taila Santos will be the next contender for the title in the UFC flyweight category, which is currently held by Valentina Shevchenko. The two will enter the Octagon on June 11 at UFC 275. The location of the event has not yet been announced, but it will probably be in Singapore.

Valentina Shevchenko (22-3) will defend her title for the seventh time. “The Bullet” has already made two defenses in 2021, defeating both opponents. First, she won the fight versus Jessica Andrade in the second round via TKO, and then smashed Lauren Murphy at the UFC 266 via TKO in Round 4.

Since she dropped the category and fought in the “flyweight” she has not been defeated and is in a series of 8 consecutive successes.

Taila Santos (19-1) looks phenomenal after losing her UFC debut to Mara Romero Borella in 2019. The Brazilian managed to knock out 4 rivals. She last won her fight versus Joanne Wood at the UFC Fight Night 198 in the first round via rear-naked choke submission.

There is only one other match planned for UFC 275. This is the light heavyweight fight between champion Glover Teixeira and Jiri Prochazka. The fight was moved from UFC 274 to UFC 275 for unknown reasons.
