The women’s volleyball team Vakifbank won the Women’s Champions League Super Final. The Giovanni Guidetti-lead team defeated Eczacibasi by 3-1 (27:25, 25:17, 23:25, 25:17) at the all Turkish Super final of the most prestigious volleyball championship, played in front of 10,447 spectators in “Pala Alpitur” in Turin (Italy).
The most valuable player for the champions was the Italian volleyball star Paola Egonu, who played fantastically and scored 40 points (1 ace, 2 blocks, 65% attack efficiency). The Brazilian player Gabriela Guimaraes added another 15 points (1 ace, 3 blocks, 50% attack efficiency, and 77% positive reception) for the victory.
Tijana Boskovic was the top scorer for Eczacibasi with 16 points (1 block, 37% attack efficiency).
This is the second consecutive and 6th in total Women’s Champions League title for Vakifbank, who also has four Club World Championship titles, as well as one CEV Cup and Challenge Cup titles.
