Vakifbank continues its excellent performance in Turkey’s Sultanlar Ligi Women

The volleyball team Vakifbank continues its excellent performance in Turkey’s Sultanlar Ligi Women, winning their visitor’s match versus Fenerbahce with 1-3 (25:27, 25:22, 21:25, 10:25).

The win was not so easy, however. Vakifbank took the lead at the very beginning of the first game, but their opponents turned over the score. Fenerbahce even had a serious advantage of 24:19 in the end and was close to winning the game with 5 game balls. However, the service of the Fenerbahce’s captain, Eda Erdem Dundar, was accurate, but pretty easy for the spike of Vakifbank and Zehra Gunes scored for 24:20. In the other matches of Turkey’s Sultanlar Ligi Women, Kuzey Boru Genclik lost at home to Galatasaray with 2-3 (19:25, 25:19,17:25, 25:17, 5:15), while Bolu Bld won by 3-1 (28:26, 28:26, 23:25, 25:17) versus Mert Grup Sigorta and Yesilyurt lost at home to THY by 0-3 (12:25, 15:25, 14:25).

Leader in the standings is Vakifbank with 41 pts (14-2), followed by Eczacibasi with 39 pts (13-3), Fenerbahce with 39 pts (13-3) and THY with 37 pts (13-3).
