Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk is a Ukrainian athlete, who specialized in the long jump and the triple jump, as well as 60m sprint. She is a European Indoor champion in the long jump of Torun 2021 and silver medalist of the World Outdoor Championships in Doha 2019, as well as silver at the Budapest World Athletics Championships in the triple jump. She is also several times Ukrainian champion in the long jump and triple jump.
Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk was born on July 18, 1995, in Moroziv, Ukraine. She started practicing athletics from an early age and was one of the biggest talents of Ukraine in the long jump. She finished fifth at the 2011 World Youth Championships, eighth at the 2012 World Junior Championships, and won the bronze medal at the 2013 European Junior Championships.
Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in the long jump, finishing fifth with 6.88 m. Her personal best jump is 6.93 m, achieved in Lutsk in 2016.
Her main discipline was the long jump and won the gold at the European Indoor Championships in Torun 2021 and the Universiade in Naples 2020. She also won the silver medal at the World Championships in Doha 2020 and European Championships in Berlin 2018.
In 2020, Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk earned the long jump gold medals at the Lutsk Ukrainian Championships, BAUHAUS-Galan in Stockholm and Doha Diamond League Meeting, as well as top-level tournaments Indoor Meeting – Karlsruhe, ORLEN Copernicus Cup in Torun, Muller Indoor Grand Prix Glasgow, and Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais. She also won the silver at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial – Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix.
Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk continue dominating the local long jump in 2021, triumphing with another national titles at the Lutsk Ukrainian Championships and Sumy Ukrainian Indoor Championships. She also earned the gold at the Torun European Athletics Indoor Championships. During the outdoor season, Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, but finished 5th. She earned her first Dimond League gold at the Muller British GP, as well as the bronze at the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea and Bauhaus-Galan in Stockholm. At the end of the season, she won the long jump bronze at the Diamond League Final at the Weltklasse.
In 2022, Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk debuted in the triple jump at the Ukrainian National Indoor Championships, winning the gold with 14.34 m. Later during the season she earned the triple jump gold at the Munich European Athletics Championships, but missed the medal in the long jump, finishing 5th. At the Eugene World Athletics Championships she finished 10th in the triple jump and 8th in the long jump. Meanwhile, during the season Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk triumphed with the long jump gold at the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea and the silver at the BAUHAUS-Galan in Stockholm, as well as the triple jump silver medals at the Ooredoo Doha Meeting and Diamond League Finals Weltklasse. She also competed at the Beograd World Athletics Indoor Championships, winning the silver in the triple jump.
In 2023, Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk started the season by winning the triple jump bronze at the Init Indoor Meeting in Karlsruhe and Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais. During the outdoor season, she won the long jump bronze at the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea, as well as the triple jump silver at the Meeting International Mohammed VI d’Athletisme de Rabat, Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial and Memorial van Damme in Bruxelles. She also won the silver at the Budapest World Athletics Championships in the triple jump.
