Ukraine’s first female bobsledder Lydia Gunko, who is participating in the Beijing 2022 Olympics, has tested positive for doping, revealed the International Testing Agency (ITA).
The substance “dihydrotestosterone” – a more active form of testosterone – was found in Lydia Gunko’s doping test. The test was given on February 14 at the Beijing Olympics. The athlete has a temporary sentence, which she has the right to challenge by requesting the opening of the “B” sample.
The 28-year-old Lydia Gunko finished 20th in the “monobob” discipline at Beijing 2022 Olympics. These games were the first in her career.
Earlier, another Ukrainian woman exploded with doping. Ski runner Valiantsina Kaminskaya was accused of using the banned substances mesterolone, an anabolic steroid, and stimulants.
