Two more Olympic champions confirmed participating at Rome Diamond League

Tara Davis-Woodhall and Winfred Yavi will join five other Olympic champions from Paris for the Diamond League tournament in Rome on August 30.

American star Tara Davis-Woodhall won gold in the long jump in the French capital with 7.10m and added another gold to her career following this winter’s Glasgow world indoor title. In the long jump, she will face the Tokyo 2020 Olympics champion Malaika Mihambo (Germany), Jasmine Moore (USA), and 2024 Roma European Championships silver medalist Larissa Iapichino (Italy).

British athlete Winfred Yavi also recorded one of the strongest performances in Paris, winning gold in the 3,000m steeplechase in a new Olympic record of 8:52.76 min. Having secured her first Olympic gold medal, the 24-year-old is hoping to defend and his diamond trophy from last season.

Two other Olympic champions from Paris have already confirmed their participation in Rome earlier in the season. Australian pole vault athlete Nina Kennedy, who won the Olympic title, will also be on the line at the Rome Diamond League. The Olympic 100m hurdles champion Masai Russell will be hoping to claim her first Diamond League victory.
