Turkey with a dramatic victory over the Dominican Republic at the Women’s Volleyball World Cup

Turkey’s women’s volleyball team achieved its second victory at the World Cup. Giovanni Guidetti’s girls overcame the Dominican Republic in hard-fought and dramatic fashion 3-2 (21:25, 25:21, 25:18, 16:25, 15:13) in their third match of Group B at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, played this evening in Gdansk (Poland).

Thus, the Turks are in 3rd place in the group with 2 wins, 1 loss and 6 points. The Dominican Republic is also in the lead with 2 wins and 1 loss, but with 7 points. In the next matches, Turkey will play against Croatia, which has lost three in a row so far, while the Dominican women will face the hosts from Poland. The matches are tomorrow (September 29).

Above all for Turkey was Ebrar Karakurt with a great 29 points (1 block) for the victory.

For the Dominican Republic, Brayelin Martinez (1 block, 1 ace) and Gaila Ceneida Gonzalez Lopez (2 blocks, 2 aces) each scored 20 points, but their efforts weren’t enough for success either.
