Turkey qualifies for the semifinals of Eurovolley 2021

The women’s national team of Turkey qualifies for the semifinals of Eurovolley 2021. The girls of Giovanni Guidetti smashed Poland with 3-0 (25:18, 25:14, 25:23) in the quarterfinal match of the tournament, played in front of about 2300 spectators in the Kolodruma hall in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Thus, Turkey qualifies for the final four in Belgrade, where it will most likely play in the semifinals with the hosts and reigning champions of Serbia. The match may be a repeat of the final of Eurovolley 2019. The semifinal will be on Friday (September 3).

Turkey was the favorite in the match, not allowing resistance from Poland. In the first two games, they took an early lead and maintained it until the end. Only in the third game, there was some intrigue, which lasted until 13:13. Then Turkey made a point series and took the lead with 16:13. Despite all the efforts of the Poles until the end, Turkey kept its lead and ended the match with 3-0 after 25:23.

Above all for Turkey was Ebrar Karakurt with 20 points (2 aces and 60% efficiency in attack) for the victory.

For the team of Poland, Magdalena Stysiak scored 14 points (44% efficiency in attack).
