Jessica Pegula lost to the 2018 champion Aleksandra Krunic (Serbia) by 1-2 (6:7, 7:6, 4:6) in 2:44 hours.
“It definitely takes a lot to beat Jessica on grass. I played 100%t today”, said Aleksandra Krunic after the match.
The 31-year-old Serbian tennis player reached her first WTA quarter-final since 2022 and first on grass since winning her only title six years ago. In the next round, she will face Dalma Galfi (Hungary), who eliminated the 5th-seeded Veronika Kudermetova (Russia) by 2-1 (6:3, 3:6, 7:5).
The second-seeded Liudmila Samsonova (Russia) also qualified for the quarterfinals after beating Celine Naef (Switzerland) by 2-0 (7:5, 6:2).
