Top-seeded Coco Gauff advanced to the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Auckland Open

The top-seeded Coco Gauff advanced to the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Auckland Open. The American teenager defeated the Chinese tennis player Lin Zhu by 2-0 (6:3, 6:2) in 77 minutes.

Coco Gauff made one break in the first set and two breaks in the second set to secure the victory. She made 8 aces and won 89% of the 1st Serve Points, without giving a single break point to her opponent.

In the semifinals, Coco Gauff will face Danka Kovinic (Montenegro), who defeated Viktoria Kuzmova (Slovakia) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:2).

The big surprise from the day was the defeat of the third-seeded US Open 2021 runner-up Leylah Fernandez. She lost the match versus Belgian tennis player Ysaline Bonaventure by 0-2 (4:6, 2:6) in 70 minutes.
