Tobi Amusan won two gold medals at the African Games in Ghana

The 100m hurdles world record holder Tobi Amusan (Nigeria) won two gold medals at the African Games in Ghana. The Nigerian athlete first won the gold at her crowning event 100m hurdles with 12.89 sec and then helped her country’s 4x100m relay to reach the title. The champions recorded a result of 43.05 sec for the gold medals.

In 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan emerged victorious over Sidonie Fiadanantsoa (Madagascar), who finished in second place with a time of 13.19 sec. Kamangirira Ashley Tinashe (Zimbabwe) remained third with 13.59 sec.

Earlier in the season, Tobi Amusan announced that her goal at the African Games in Ghana was to win four gold medals. In Ghana, she had to start at 100m and 200m.

Meanwhile, Mary Moraa (Kenya) won the gold in 400m with a result of 50.57 sec. The silver went to Esther Elo Joseph (Nigeria) with 51.61 sec and the bronze was for Sita Sibiri (Burkina Faso) with a national record of 51.74 sec.
