Norwegian Tiril Eckhoff won her first Biathlon World Cup after winning today’s pursuit of 10 kilometers in Nove Mesto na Morave (Czech Republic).
The Norwegian, who started first after her success in the sprint yesterday, did not allow to be overtaken and finished 27:13.6 minutes, allowing only one mistake in her four shots. So she recorded her 12th victory for the season and fifth double triumph in sprint and pursuit. Tiril Eckhoff has a total of 25 successes in her career.
“I am very happy. I have done a good race. I did not know that with a victory today I can also secure the World Cup. The feeling is wonderful”, said Tiril Eckhoff.
Second, 34.6 seconds behind with perfect shooting ended the Dzinara Alimbeka (Belarus), and a third of 40.2 seconds ordered Franziska Preuss (Germany) with two mistakes in the shooting.
Marte Olsbu Roiseland (Norway) progressed with ten positions from the sprint and finished fourth in the pursuit of 41.6 seconds after 19 out of 20 scavenges of the firewood.
The winner of the World Cup for the last season Dorothea Wierer (Italy) finished fifth to 46.0 seconds after two faults in the shooting.
Tiril Eckhoff is unattainable at the top of the general ranking before the World Cup finals next week in Sweden with 1043 points.
