Tigres UANL Women defended their Mexico Liga MX Women Apertura title after making a goalless draw versus Club America Women in the second leg match in the final on their Estadio Universitario in San Nicolas de los Garza. Thus, with aggregate score of 3-0 , after smashing their opponent as a visitor 4 days ago, Tigres UANL Women defended their title and guaranteed a match on the Super Final.

The match was quite equal with both players trying to attack from counter attacks. Club America Women had more goal attempts, but their forwards were in accurate in the final phase and registered only 3 shots in the target. On the other hand, Tigres UANL Women had less goal attempts but hade 6 shots in the target.

Tigres UANL’s goalkeeper Cecilia Santiago denied everything that came her way, becoming the MVP of the match. Club America Women kept trying until the final whistle, unable to score, the game ending in a 0-0 draw.

Strong match for the champions made also Maricarmen Reyes, Cristina Ferral and Anika Rodriguez.

With this result, Tigres UANL Women became the Champions of the Apertura 2023, getting their sixth star.
