The women’s tennis tournament in Hamburg will no longer be held in parallel with the men’s competition and will be at a different facility, the organizers reported.
The tennis tournament moves from Am Rothenbaum to the Stadtpark in the THC von Horn und Hamm complex in the city park. The tournament will be ranked WTA 250 and in 2024 will be held between July 15 and 25. These dates are between Wimbledon and the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The new facility is planned to have nearly 2,000 seats for spectators. This is significantly less than the number built specifically for the Am Rothenbaum tennis tournament, where the men will continue to play.
In 2023, the winner of the WTA 250 Hamburg European Open was Arantxa Rus in singles and Alexandra Panova and Anna Danilina in doubles. Among the previous winners in singles are Bernarda Pera and Elena-Gabriela Ruse.
