The USA women’s gymnastics team won a record sixth consecutive world title at the championships in the English city of Liverpool. Shilese Jones, Jade Carey, Leanne Wong, Jordan Chiles and Skye Blakely finished with a total of 166.564 points. The American gymnasts, who are also vice-champions from Tokyo 2020 Olympics, led the ranking after the first rotation and did not allow themselves to be displaced from the first place until the end.
The silver was earned by the athletes of Great Britain with 163.363 points, and the bronze in the women’s team competition for the first time at the world championships went to the Canadians with 160.563 points.
The prize winners secured a direct quota for the next Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
Olympic champion Russia did not participate in the competition due to a ban imposed by the World and European Federations in connection with the military actions in Ukraine.
