The volleyball players of the USA recorded their 4th victory at the Olympic tournament in Tokyo, after in the last 5th round of the matches of the preliminary Group B they turned the team of Italy from 1-2 to 3-2 (21:25, 25:16, 25:27, 25:16, 15:12), which lasted 2.19 hours.
Both teams had already qualified for the quarterfinals, but success today could lead one team to first place in the group.
The Americans were a little better on the blockade and the service, and the Italians made 35 against 24 unprovoked mistakes, which turned out to be decisive for the outcome of the match.
Legendary US coach Karch Kiraly had to replace his main settler, Jordyn Poulter, with Micha Hancock in the middle of the third part after the incumbent was injured.
