The top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka surprisingly lost in the first round of the WTA 250 Adelaide 2. The tennis player from Belarus lost to Sweden’s Rebecca Peterson with 1-2 (7:5, 1:6, 5:7) and continues her unconvincing performance since the beginning of the year, after being defeated in the first round in last week’s tournament in Adelaide.

Lauren Davis (USA) won versus Jil Belen Teichmann (Switzerland) by 2-1 (1:6, 7:6, 6:4) and in the next round will face Jasmine Paolini (Italy), who defeated Storm Sanders by 2-0 (7:5, 6:2).
Liudmila Samsonova (Russia) defeated Mayar Sherif (Egypt) by 2-0 (7:6, 6:4) and in the second round will face Nuria Parrizas-Diaz (Spain).
Anhelina Kalinina (Ukraine) also qualified for the second round of WTA 250 Adelaide 2 after defeating Sorana-Mihaela Cirstea (Romania) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:2) and will face Alison Riske (USA).
The American teenager sensation Cori “Coco” Gauff won her match versus Katerina Siniakova (Czech Republic) by 2-0 (6:1, 6:2) and in the second round will play versus Marta Kostyuk (Ukraine).
