The first qualifiers for WTA Finals in Cancun were announced

The first four female tennis players, who will certainly participate in the WTA Finals in the Mexican city of Cancun, are already clear. The WTA Finals tournament, where will participate the Top 8 female tennis players in the world this season, will be held from October 29 to November 5 and will close the WTA season.

The world’s number one Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus), will participate at the WTA Finals for third consecutive year. The 25-year-old Belarusian tennis player has enjoyed the best season of her career, winning her first Grand Slam singles title, at the Australian Open, in addition to the WTA 1000 Mutua Madrid Open and WTA 500 Adelaide International.

Despite losing her leading position in the world’s rankings, Iga Swiatek has still won four titles so far in the season and will also play in the finals. She has won four tournaments in 2023, defending her titles at Roland Garros and WTA 500 events at the Qatar TotalEnergies Open (Doha) and Porsche Tennis Grand Prix (Stuttgart), in addition to winning her home event at the WTA 250 BNP Paribas Warsaw Open

The US Open champion Cori Coco Gauff will compete in singles and doubles with her partner Jessica Pegula.
