The CAS will announce its ruling on Kamila Valieva’s case on Monday

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will announce its ruling on complaints from the International Skating Union (ISU), the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regarding a positive doping test by Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva on Monday.

The appeal of ISU was filed on Saturday, and the IOC and WADA on Friday. The online hearings will start on Sunday, and the decision will be announced on the afternoon of February 14. The commission includes judges from the United States, Slovenia, and Italy.

On Friday, the International Testing Agency announced that the reason for postponing the award ceremony after the results of the team figure skating tournament at the Olympics was a positive result from Valieva’s doping test, which was taken on December 25th. The 15-year-old Russian woman used the banned substance “trimetazidine”. The teenager was suspended from competitions on February 8 by the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), but immediately filed a complaint, for which the sanction was lifted the next day.
