At the World Championships in Athletics in Rome in 1987, Stefka Kostadinova overcame 209 centimeters from a second attempt – an achievement that remains number 1 in the eternal rankings to this day.
Stefka Kostadinova is an Olympic high jump champion from Atlanta 1996 and a silver medalist from Seoul 1988. Two-time world champion in Rome in 1987 and Gothenburg in 1995. Winner of five titles of world indoor championships – Paris 1985, Indianapolis 1987, Budapest 1989, Toronto 1993 and Paris 1997. European champion from Stuttgart 1986.
Stefka Kostadinova has 4 gold medals from the Old Continent Indoor Championships – Piraeus 1985, Leuven 1987, Budapest 1988, and Paris 1994. He made his first jump over 2 meters on August 25, 1984, in Sofia. There are 197 jumps on this grandmaster border in a total of 130 competitions. A record 4 times she was voted No 1 Athlete of the Year in Bulgaria, five times No 1 in the Balkans.
