The 2019 champion Dayana Yastremska is out of the WTA 250 Thailand Open

The 2019 champion Dayana Yastremska (Ukraine) lost in the second round of the WTA 250 Thailand Open tennis tournament in Hua Hin with a prize fund of 259,303 USD. The Ukrainian tennis player lost to 6th-seeded Tatjana Maria (Germany) by 0-2 (0:6, 4:6) in 81 minutes of play.

Dayana Yastremska lost the first 9 games of the match, which gave her opponent a comfortable lead. Despite that the Ukrainian returned with a break, Tatjana Maria succeeded to close the match in two sets.

In the quarter-finals, Tatjana Maria will face another Ukrainian, Lesia Tsurenko, who defeated the 4th-seeded Anna Kalinskaya by 2-1 (6:0, 6:7, 6:4).

The top-seeded Bianca Andreescu (Canada) also qualified for the quarter-finals after eliminating Anastasia Zakharova (Russia) by 2-0 (6:2, 7:5). In the next round she will play versus Marta Kostyuk (Ukraine), who defeated Nao Hibino (Japan) by 2-0 (6:3, 7:6).

The British tennis player Heather Watson also advanced ahead after defeating Na-Lae Han (South Korea) by 2-1 (6:3, 5:7, 6:4).
