Tessa Worley feels like one of the favorites in slalom

French alpine skier Tessa Worley is not worried about serious competition in the giant slalom of the Beijing 2022 Olympics and feels calmer than in PyeongChang 2018.

“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel like one of the favorites”, said Tessa Worley

The 32-year-old Frenchwoman, who is second in the provisional standings for the Giant Slalom World Cup, finished seventh in the PyeongChang 2018 in slalom and 28th in the super-giant slalom.

“In PyeongChang, I failed to realize myself. I was too focused on the sporting aspect. It’s a unique event and you have to enjoy it at all times”, said Tessa Worley. “I’m having fun on skis and it’s obvious. It allows me to show my full potential. I know the race is tough, but you just have to enjoy the moment”, added she.

Among her main rivals will be the leader in the giant slalom World Cup Sara Hector from Sweden, as well as the 2018 Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin from the USA and the 2019 world champion Petra Vlhova from Slovakia.

“There are a lot of girls in the giant slalom who can do great. At least a dozen can reach the podium. “Everything can be expected”, said Tessa Worley.
