Team Norway won the women’s 4x6km relay round of the Biathlon World Cup held in Ostersund (Sweden). The Norwegian biathletes finished with a total time of 1:18:48.3 hours with a total of 9 misses in the shooting.
In second place was the Team Sweden, 41.6 seconds behind or with a time of 1:19:29.9 hours, also with 9 misses from the firing line. Third place goes to the German team, 47.9 seconds behind the first and 4 misses in the shooting.
The top 6 are completed by the teams of Switzerland, France and the Czech Republic.
Norwegian biathletes Marthe Krakstad Johansen, Juni Arnekleiv, Karoline Offigstad Knotten and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold took the lead after the second shift, with France in the lead until then. After the second change in the relay, the Norwegians held the lead, and at that moment the Czech team was in 2nd position, followed by the German women. The surprise contenders at the start, the French team, fell to 4th and shortly after to 5th place, Chloe Chevalier had to go to the penalty circle and this affected their time.
At the 4th post there was a reshuffle at the top with Sweden coming out on top. Hanna Oeberg rode for Sweden, followed by Norway and Germany.
However, Hanna Oeberg was unable to cope with the pressure and keep the first place until the end. The Team Sweden needed two spare cartridges in the prone position, but missed four straight shots.
So she had to go to the penalty circle, giving up first place to Norwegian Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold.
