Team Ireland won the European title in the 4x400m medley relay

Team Ireland won the European title in the 4x400m medley relay in Rome. Christopher O’Donnell, Rhasidat Adeleke, Thomas Barr and Sharlene Mawdsley triumphed at the Stadio Olimpico with a new championship record of 3:09.92 min.

The Italians, Luca Sito, Anna Polinari, Edoardo Scotti, Alice Mangione, who were enthusiastically supported by their compatriots in the stands, set a new national record of 3:10.69 min and deserved the silver medals.

Femke Bol gave her best in the last post for the Netherlands team, ad together with her teammates Liemarvin Bonevacia, Lieke Klaver and Isaya Klein Ikkink managed only to fight for the bronze with 3:10.73 min.

Belgium team remained fourth with 3:11.03 min, while Great Britain completed the top five.
