Tara Davis-Woodhall won the long jump gold at the Atlanta City Meeting

Glasgow 2024 world indoor long jump champion Tara Davis-Woodhall had a fine result at the Atlanta City Meeting, landing 7.17m (0.1m/s) in her fifth attempt to claim victory.

The second place was taken by her compatriot Quanesha Burks with 6.89m (0.1 m/s), and third was the Nigerian Ese Brume with 6.87m (0.7 m/s).

Tara Davis-Woodhall, however, showed a very disrespectful attitude towards the referee, visibly disagreeing with his decision in one of his two unsuccessful attempts. She approached the judge and asked to take his glasses, demonstrating that she clearly could not see well with them.

Tara Davis-Woodhall is an American track and field athlete. In 2017 she set the American junior women’s record in the indoor long jump, and placed 6th in the women’s long jump final at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She won a silver medal in women’s long jump at the 2023 World Athletics Championships and the gold at the Glasgow World Athletics Indoor Championships.
