Tara Davis-Woodhall stripped of her US national indoor long jump title after a positive cannabis test

American track and field athlete Tara Davis-Woodhall was stripped of her US national indoor long jump title after a positive cannabis test. The 23-year-old athlete tested positive on February 17.

She was sanctioned with the minimum sanction by the rules of the USA Track and Field Federation – deprivation of competitive rights for one month, starting from March 21, because the sample was taken in out-of-competition conditions and did not directly affect her subsequent results.

In a statement, USADA wrote that Tara Davis-Woodhall’s sample “tested positive for 11-nor-9-carboxy-tetrahydrocannabinol (Carboxy-THC)”.

Tara Davis-Woodhall competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where she finished sixth. She is the U17 Girls’ World Champion in Cali 2015.

With her personal best of 7.14 m as of March 26, 2021, Tara Davis-Woodhall is the current US collegiate record holder.

She also won three medals at the 2017 Pan American Junior Championships in Trujillo, winning the gold at the 4x100m and long jump, as well as silver at 100m hurdles.
