Tamara Korpatsch won her career-first title at the WTA 250 Transylvania Open

German tennis player Tamara Korpatsch won her career-first title at the WTA 250 Transylvania Open in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) with a prize pool of 259,303 USD. The 28-year-old German player defeated Elena Gabriela Ruse (Romania) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:4) in an hour and 50 minutes of play. For Tamara Korpatsch, it was also her first WTA final in her career.

Elena Gabriela Ruse led by 3:0 in the first set, but Tamara Korpatsch won six consecutive games to close it at 6:3. In the second set, both tennis players exchanged a total of five breaks, and the German player took a lead by 5:2 and finally closed the set at 6:4.

Tamara Korpach triumphed with her first WTA 250 title, although she already has 11 ITF title and one WTA 15 title, triumphing at the WTA 125 Budapest Open 125 last season. This season, the German tennis player reached the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Livesport Prague Open and WTA 125 BBVA Open Internacional de Valencia.

For Elena Gabriela Ruse, the final was the third in her career and the best result in the last two years.
