Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone vs Shericka Jackson at 60m in Boston

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Shericka Jackson, the reigning world champions in the 400m hurdles and 200m, will face off in an unusual 60m duel in Boston on February 4.

The American Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has completely dominated the 400m hurdles in the last two years – she won the Olympic title in Tokyo and the world title in Eugene, and also holds the world record in the discipline – 50.68 sec. She was also voted the No 1 Female Athlete in the World for 2022.

Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson won the world gold in the 200m in Eugene with 21.45 seconds, the second fastest time in the history of the discipline. At the World Championships, she also took silver medals in the 100m and 4x100m relay, and at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics she won bronze medals in the 400m and 100m respectively.

Shericka Jackson’s personal best in the 60m is 7.04 sec from the World Indoor Championships final in Belgrade last year.

Also starting in Boston will be those announced earlier in the season Gabby Thomas, Laura Muir, Katie Moon, Katerina Stefanidi and others.
