Suzanne Schulting set a world record and grabbed the Olympic title at 1,000m short track speed skating

The Dutch speed skater Suzanne Schulting defended her Olympic title in the 1,000m in the short track tournament at the Beijing 2022 Games.

The 24-year-old Suzanne Schulting, who set a new world record in the quarterfinals, finished in 1:28.391 minutes after leading the entire start.

In the quarterfinals, the Dutchwoman covered the distance in 1:26.514 min, which is a new world and Olympic record.

Choi Min-jeong (Republic of Korea) won the silver with 1:28.443 min, and Hanne Desmet (Belgium) surprisingly finished third with 1:28.928 min.
