The Dutch speed skater Suzanne Schulting defended her Olympic title in the 1,000m in the short track tournament at the Beijing 2022 Games.
The 24-year-old Suzanne Schulting, who set a new world record in the quarterfinals, finished in 1:28.391 minutes after leading the entire start.
In the quarterfinals, the Dutchwoman covered the distance in 1:26.514 min, which is a new world and Olympic record.
Choi Min-jeong (Republic of Korea) won the silver with 1:28.443 min, and Hanne Desmet (Belgium) surprisingly finished third with 1:28.928 min.
The most successful speed skater in history Arianna Fontana (Italy) fell two laps before the end after contact with the American Kristen Santos, and after the run, she was disqualified.
