Susie Wolff was appointed as managing director of the all-female Formula 1 Academy Championship

Susie Wolff is taking over as managing director of the all-female Formula 1 Academy Championship, which aims to integrate women into the higher categories of motorsport and support its development.

The new championship was introduced in November, it will feature five teams and 15 drivers, and there will be 21 races, on the tracks where Formula 1 runs its rounds.

Susie Wolff, who is the wife of Mercedes Formula 1 team boss Toto Wolff, has serious motorsport experience. The Scottish racer has competed in the DTM, logged several F1 free practice sessions for Williams and was most recently Venturi’s team boss in Formula E.

Above Susie Wolff in the hierarchy of Formula 1 will be the president and CEO of the world championship Stefano Domenicali, which should accelerate the development of the new championship and the drivers in it.
