Valeria Aleksieva and her new team ALBA (Berlin) have successfully started their pre-season training. The Bulgarian and her teammates won more than definitely their first control, after beating Zelendorf’s team by 84:30 in Berlin.
It was an unofficial debut for the Bulgarian player Valeria Aleksieva, who joined the team after a transfer from Slavia Sofia this summer. The guard performed very strongly in her first match with the yellow team, in which she recorded 13 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.
“We are glad that we are finally back”, said Alba Berlin head coach Cristo Cabrera. “This is the next step in our preparation. Of course, we still have a lot to improve in our game, but we still manage to find our identity step by step”, added the coach.
The next friendly match of Alba Berlin is this Sunday against Eintracht Braunschweig. The team officially starts the season with a match for the German Cup against Dusseldorf Baskets on September 18. The German team’s first match in the Second Bundesliga is against Jena on September 26.
